Ornate Borders

Here is a card using the new Ornate Borders Dies. They are available to customers starting April 1st.

rose card
The card base is Rococo Rose cardstock, cut 5.5″ X 8.5″ and scored at 4.25″.

I used a new Ornate Borders die to give the floral edge to the card.

The yellow rose was cut out of Pineapple Punch using the Rose Garden dies (retired).

The oval was cut out of Pineapple Punch using the Layering Ovals dies. The sentiment was stamped in Rococo Rose ink and is from the Strong and Beautiful stamp set.

The inside of the card has a sheet of Pineapple Punch, cut 5.25″ X 4″. It nicely shows through the border edge.

Fun Fold

I tried a fun fold card. I followed the directions carefully and it turned out!

fun fold card

I’ve seen various fun folds but I really like how the center square stands out.

The base card stock is Pretty Peacock. The mat layer is Whisper White. The decorative layer is the Sale-A-Bration Lily Impressions dsp. The center lily is Cajun Craze ink stamped on Grapefruit Grove paper using the Lovely Lily Pad stamp set and cut out using the Lily Pad dies. The sentiment is stamped in Cajun Craze as well. This is on Whisper White paper.

Easter Flowers

I love the purple cards for Easter. Too bad the picture makes the colours look lighter than they are in reality.

easter card

This card uses the small bloom punch available for free (with a $120 purchase) during Sale-A-Bration.

The base cardstock is Gorgeous Grape. The top colour is Purple Posy.

Each of the flowers punched out are 2 of Gorgeous Grape, 2 of Highland Heather and 1 of Purple Posy.

In the center of each flower is a basic jewel rhinestone.

The ribbon is purple tricolour.

The sentiment is from the Welcome Easter stamp set.

Fishing Colour Blending

I enjoyed blending colours on the ladybug card so I thought I would try another card with more blending.

This time I started out with a sheet of 5 X 3 3/4 paper. I used a small circle to identify where my setting sun would be and taped it down using washi tape. Below you can see as I blended Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Calypso Coral and Cajun Craze.

When I pulled off the circle the washi tape ripped the base paper. I thought I would have to start again then I figured I would cut another circle out, tape it to the card and make it the shining sun. I added the colours to the circle including a very light Cajun Craze so that the colouring of the card would blend together.

fishing card

I stamped the fisherman image from the Best Catch stamp set using Memento Black.

fishing card

From the High Tide stamp set I stamped some water at the bottom of the picture using Blueberry Bushel.

fishing card

I also stamped birds from the High Tide set and the sentiment from the Best Catch set using Memento Black.

fishing card

The card base is Very Vanilla. I thought that would go with the other colours used. Cajun Craze is the accent colour cut to 5 1/4 X 4.

fishing card

Below is the finished card. On the inside I stamped the fish hook from Best Catch in Cajun Craze.

Ladybug Emboss Resist

I tried the emboss resist technique using the Little Ladybug stamp set.

I started with a piece of Whisper White cardstock. Using Versamark I stamped three ladybugs on the paper. I used white embossing powder and heat set it with the embossing tool. As you can see below the images don’t stand out too much.

ladybug card

Using a dauber I added Balmy Blue to the top of the sheet.

ladybug card

Then I added Daffodil Delight to the middle and Melon Mambo to the bottom, blending the colours together.

ladybug card

The ink may stick to the embossed image. If so, just wipe it with a tissue or paper towel to remove the ink.

I started with a Whisper White card base sized 5 1/2 X 4 1/4. I used Call Me Clover sized 5 1/4 X 4 as an accent colour. I embossed it with the Swirls And Curls embossing folder.

ladybug card

I cut the ladybug sheet down to see more of the embossed Call Me Clover. I added the Thank You stamped in Call Me Clover and a few jewels as embellishments. The finished card is below. On the inside of the card I stamped a ladybug in Call Me Clover.

Golfer’s Valentine

Here is a Valentine’s Day card that I created for a golfer.

golf card

Start with a base of 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 Poppy Parade cardstock. Score the card at 2 1/8 and 4 1/4.

Cut a piece of dsp from the Country Club Suite 1 7/8 by 4. For the inside of the card, you will need a piece of Whisper White 5 1/4 by 4. Using Whisper White and Poppy Parade cardstock, punch out the heart shapes.

golf card golf card

Using Poppy Parade ink and the Clubhouse stamp set, stamp a sentiment on the Whisper White heart. Assemble the card using Snail Adhesive to attach the cardstock and DSP.

golf card

Using the Heartfelt stamp set, decorate the inside of the card. I used Crushed Curry, Night of Navy, Poppy Parade and Garden Green with the small hearts. These match the colours of the tees on the DSP. The sentiment is stamped using Poppy Parade.

golf card

Attach the heart to the front of the card on the fold. If your inside sentiment is visible when the card is folded, you can attach the top heart to help hide it.

Simple Valentine’s Card

Here are the instructions to make this simple Valentine’s Day Card.

heart card

Start with a card base of 8 1/2 by 5 1/2. I used Real Red cardstock as the base. Using the Lily Pad dies I created 3 accents using Real Red, Flirty Flamingo and Whisper White. Using the heart punches I used Flirty Flamingo and Whisper White.

heart card

Using Real Red ink and the Heartfelt stampset, I stamped the sentiment on the Whisper White heart.

Then assemble the card and add accents. I added Whisper White ribbon to the front.
