Hello, It has been a while since I have posted to the blog. I’ve been busy working from home. As a demonstrator of Stampin’ Up we get to order some things from the catalogue before customers. The following video is me showing off the items that I pre-ordered. I can not wait to start creating cards with these new products. The catalogue will go live for everyone starting June 3rd.
SU Butterflies

For this card I used Butterfly Gala stamp set from Stampin’ Up. The video below demonstrates how I made it. Please let me know if you create your own card after watching this.
Split Cover Card

The following is a YouTube video demonstrating how to create this split cover card. I hope you enjoy it. Let me know if you create your own split cover card. I would love to see it.
Well Dressed

This card uses the Well Dressed Stamp Set and Country Club DSP. I hope you enjoy the video.
SU Timeless Tulips
Screen Card

I love the look of a screen card. So I created this one.

Start with a piece of paper that is 11″X5.5″. I used a piece of Blackberry Bliss.

Next I used a die from the Ornate Borders die set along the top edge.

Then score the paper at 2.75″, 5.5″ and 8.25″

Next is creating a design on the bottom to make it look like the legs of a stand. I used a die from the retired Rose Wonder set.

For the 4 panels I used Whisper White cardstock cut to 4.5″ X 2.5″ each.

This is where you can get creative decorating the 4 panels. I stamped the flowers and leaves using the Painted Seasons set. The colours used were Blackberry Bliss and Garden Green. The “Happy Birthday” stamp is from a 2019 Paper Pumpkin set. The sentiment is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set. All words were stamped in Blackberry Bliss.

When you are happy with the panels, attach them to the card base.

To finish the card off I added a few butterflies. They were stamped in Blackberry Bliss from the Butterfly Gala stamp set and punched out using the Butterfly Duet Punch.
Power of Hope

I was blending inks again. There are 6 different colours used to create the background for this card.
Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Mango Melody, Terracotta Tile, Cajun Craze, and Cherry Cobbler.
The images and sentiment are stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black.
These are from the “Power of Hope” stamp set in Sale-A-Bration.
One Page Wonder With A Twist

The one page wonder is a way to use one sheet of 12″ X 12″ DSP without wasting any of it. You can quickly make several cards with the DSP by using the same cardstock and sentiment for all of the cards.
However, I decided to use the one page wonder a different way. I used the Flowering Foils from Sale-A-Bration and coloured each of the pieces of the DSP. Some pieces have the background only coloured in with markers. Others have ink sponged onto them. You can notice the difference.
I hope you like my cards and they give you some ideas of what to do with the Flowering Foils paper.
Northern Lights

I saw a card that had the Northern Lights on it. I thought I would give it a try with ink blending.
I started by using Pineapple Punch, Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather and Garden Green as the colours in the sky. Then I went all around the card with Pacific Point, followed with Night of Navy. This toned down the other colours.

Next I sprinkled water on the sky.

I stamped trees on the card. They are from the Lovely As A Tree stamp set and stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black.

I put the card on a black mat.

I haven’t yet finished the card. I’m still deciding what colour card base to use. What colour do you think would look good as the base?
Ink Blending

I purchased new blending brushes and had to try them out today. I love the soft look they create.
This was created using various colours and stamp sets. The sand is Soft Suede.
The sea is a mixture of Pool Party, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay.
The sky is a combination of Balmy Blue and Pacific Point.
The grasses are stamped using Soft Suede. One colour looks very different whether being blended or stamped. The stamp sets used for the grass are High Tide and Nature’s Beauty.
The ripples on the sea are stamped using Coastal Cabana. The High Tide stamp set was used for this.
The walking birds are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black. They are from the High Tide set.
The flying birds are stamped with Tuxedo Black as well. They are from the Mountain Air stamp set.
The card base is Coastal Cabana and the mat is Whisper White.
I enjoyed using the blending brushes so much that I added some décor to the inside of the card as well.

I hope that you enjoy this card and that it makes you want to try blending.
